Rewind to 12th December 2012. Out of a freezing cold office (because we couldn’t afford heating back then!), our founders huddled round a couple of computer screens. This was the moment. After a year of working round the clock and a lifetime of tempering the thirst to create a world-class brand, we pressed LAUNCH. That was the moment Protein Works website went live to the globe.

It’s not an overly fancy story, we know. There’re no garages worked out of, no office in the Bay Area to talk up. But fancy isn’t in our DNA, innovation is. With the idea to rock the very foundations of a sports nutrition industry that had become complacent, we set out to create an online sports nutrition brand that put pure quality & wow service before lowest possible price. With that vision and all it entails; we knew we’d be the underdogs from the very beginning. But you know what? We love that.

Fast forward almost 8 years and the journey from humble Cheshire beginnings, to over 1 million orders shipped globally may be in the bag, but our future is just beginning…

At our Cheshire based HQ we handle the full business mix - a vast facility over two sites and over 75,000 square feet. On one site you’ll find everything from our Operations Department, including Finance & Customer Experience to Fulfilment and Warehousing, On the second site, you’ve got the engine room of Manufacturing, Product Development, Technology and Digital Marketing teams. Our award-winning Sales & Marketing Team handle the full Performance Marketing mix, Brand Management, Design, Customer Experience, Content Creation, SEO and CRO and Trading. Is it a squeeze? Sure. You and members of your team will be new to the role, giving you fantastic comradery from the off whilst being flanked by the CMO who’s over 12 years digital retail experience & 3 years’ experience at the brand and a passionate approach to customer experience and brand management – two core elements you’ll be driving. You’ll take the lead on implementing our new Customer Wow programme internationally, across our customer base, getting the opportunity to grow into a truly global role within this customer focused, marketing role.

The Role: UK & EU Partnerships & Affiliate Executive

1. To ignite Partnerships as a new, consistent and growth channel for our business in UK & EU

2. To truly innovate in the digital marketing space, in order to amplify our brand and maximise ROI

3. To outgrow the market within the affiliate space and develop a very strong EU affiliate base

Reporting into our Head of Performance UK & EU, with every day access to the CMO and MD, you’ll be solely responsible acquiring our customers in the UK and Europe and growing our business through brand partnerships and the affiliate network. You’ll be targeted to do this as efficiently as possible for the business and as impactfully as possible for our customers. As such you’ll be challenged to manage your commercials and our brand in all aspects of your role

You’ll come in to full mix marketing team, all sitting together and working as one. As part of the performance section in that team you’ll work closely within a group of 6, known as the ‘The Spend Centre’ within the wider Marketing Team. You’ll be flanked by a Trading team, who specialise in the management of our on-site performance and what we call the ‘Revenue Centre’ of the business. The two teams, not yet 100% complete, will transform the way we’re able to drive and develop our people and delivery our continued growth plans.

As a focused Digital Channel specialist, you’ll be solely responsible for driving growth within your channel in the UK and our European business where we proactively trade in key countries like France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Ireland.

You’ll be targeted to deliver real time, short term and long-term objectives. Through commercial mindset backed up by your incredible ability to build lasting relationships at speed, you’ll look to improve on results month on month as you take bigger piece of the market share as your channel evolves. You’ll look to consistently deliver ROI, manage A:R and improve CPAs as core metrics and you’ll naturally challenge these for yourself and the wider team in order to effectively manage budget allocation and drive a profitable and impactful marketing mix.

Whilst you’ll be a number and target driven person, your understanding of brand management and focus on the customer will be a key driver in the way you manage our brand proposition with integrity and passionate focus on the customers perception and experience.

Immediate Responsibilities and Hot Projects

Plot, Plan and Deliver on the following

1. A hit list of brand partners for the UK & EU along with an execution plan, KPIs and strategy

2. An overhaul of our UK affiliate channel spotting key opportunities to grow and gain efficiencies

3. A tactical affiliate action plan for our EU affiliate channel focused on short term wins to drive growth

4. A longer-term action plan and strategy for our EU affiliate channel

5. An activation plan for our influencers to drive their impact and earnings through commissions

The Things You’ll Nail As Standard

1. Real time monitoring of channel performance, co-ordinating with trading teams to deliver to target

2. Management of budgets optimising activity to drive profitable growth

3. Constant identification of new areas of opportunity, conducting trails and driving growth

4. Maintenance and improvements of relationships with AWIN and our affiliate network in UK & EU

5. Maintenance and improvement of our relationship with UNiDAYS managing profitable growth in the channel

6. Maintenance and improvements of relationships with AWIN and our affiliate network in UK & EU

7. Supporting our trading team by working closely to ensure there’s cohesion between off site and on-site marketing and a gold standard journey for our customers

8. Ahead of the curve industry knowledge of your channel in order to capitalise on first to market growth and opportunity

9. Effective and relevant reporting to your line manager, the CMO and wider business/Board (when needed)

Essential:

1. One years performance marketing experience within the affiliate network

2. Proven experience of campaign management

3. Proven experience of negotiation

4. Proven track record of delivering to target and exceeding business goals

5.Experience working for an Ecommerce FMCG business

6. Highly experienced in budget management

7. Highly experienced in google analytics, the marketing mix and commercials

8. People management experience
