What are Essential Amino Acids?
The sports nutrition industry is full of buzzwords, and for some, understanding what these mean can be confusing. So let's get down to business! Amino Acids are the ‘building blocks’ of our muscles, after they are digested they are recombined to recreate muscle fibres. Essential for a reason, these Essential Amino Acids cannot be produced in sufficient amounts within the body and as such must be obtained from the food that we eat.
How does Essential Amino Acids work?
Amino Acids are already contained in the food we eat, though providing additional Essential Amino Acids may exert unique effects not found when provided in lower dosages in food or protein supplements. There are 20 Amino Acids of which 9 are considered essential. Those 9 Aminos are what the body uses to rebuild muscle and must be sourced through the diet. Each Essential Amino Acid has a specific role, for example, Leucine is what turns on the signal to create muscle. 5g of Leucine is all that is needed to maximally stimulate this, afterwards the other Amino Acids will then be joined to create muscle fibres. Although they can be obtained in food, there are times when consuming a simple powdered drink can have its advantages!.

If one of the essential amino acids is less than needed for an individual the utilization of other amino acids will be hindered and thus protein synthesis will be less than what it usually is (Wiki). This product has all nine Essential Amino Acids, need I say more.

Great for cutting and getting into condition!

I recently bought these EAA's and selected unflavoured' so that I could add them to my protein shake. Unfortunately, this is NOT unflavoured! They do have a very strong taste and to be honest it's disgusting! It totally overpowers the taste of the shake and it makes my mouth tingle; my face actually hurts every time I drink it!
Aside from the nasty taste of the unflavoured variety, Id say they are doing a good job and they are certainly helping me. However, in future I think I'll choose the flavoured option and drink it with juice!
