For many people the stomach area can be a big problem when it comes to losing fat. Did you know that your diet will make up for around 70% of losing stomach fat? Yes exercise is just as important and will help you greatly with reaching your goals but what you eat really does show in your stomach and waistline.
Eat healthy fats such as egg yolks, raw nuts, olive oil, avocados, grass-fed meats, salmon, and coconut oil. These are good for your heart, your cholesterol, and your overall health. They will help you control your appetite and your hormones that control muscle building and fat burning.
Cut down or completely stop eating processed carbohydrates such as most breads, refined sugars, breaded or battered foods, most breakfast cereals, fizzy drinks and many others. Not only will these do the opposite than help you lose weight, they will also have a large deal to do with any bloating you may get. Sticking to foods that come ‘from nature’ and have natural sugars rather than all those hidden nastys will help to cut through that belly fat.
Eat high quality protein. This can come from nuts, beans, grass-fed meats, greek yogurt and of course protein powders such as whey protein isolate. A good, high quality protein can help your metabolism to run at a higher rate when combined with weight training. This will help to shift the extra calories and fat.
Keep well-hydrated. Take a bottle of water everywhere you go and regularly take a few mouthfuls. Keeping hydrated with water will make you feel fuller and you’ll also be a lot less likely pick up a fizzy drink or a sugar filled juice.
Exercise. Having a good variety of exercises under your belt will not just help to lose that stomach fat but will also help to keep it away. You don’t just need to work out your stomach to lose fat in that area. Walking, jogging, bike riding and weight lifting will help just as well as the targeted exercises.
Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will put your body into starvation mode and that will just make it hold onto the fat supplies.
Take your time and don’t rush. It may have taken months to gain all the stomach fat so remember that it won’t take a week to burn it all off.
